Rauscher & Stoecklin high-current plugs & sockets business sold to Pfiffner

RAUSCHER & STOECKLIN – the Swiss manufacturer of high-current plugs & sockets supplied by Ceenorm – has sold the part of its business making these products to another Swiss company, PFIFFNER Schaltgeräte AG Ltd, (part of the Pfiffner Group).

A statement from R&S said the portfolio of products had limited synergies with its core business, and the sale to Pfiffner would allow it to focus more on its main business – and that Pfiffner Schaltgeräte AG represented a highly suitable long-term owner for the business and is well-positioned to support its future development.

Marcel Rüfenacht, CEO of the Pfiffner Group, said: “We are proud to assume this successful business area of Rauscher & Stoecklin AG and continue to grow on a worldwide scale. The market-leading portfolio of switches and connectors complements our existing low- and medium-voltage products well. We will integrate this organization within Pfiffner Schaltgeräte AG and its disconnector business. We look forward to delivering even greater value to our customers.”

The Pfiffner high-current plugs & sockets available from Ceenorm offer solutions which are suitable for use in the toughest environments and the most challenging of conditions, including tunnelling, quarrying, mining, ports & maritime, heavy industry, construction, and renewable energy.

Current ratings in the Pfiffner range are from 160A to 600A, & up to 1000V.

The IP67-rated high-current plugs & sockets are designed for the outdoors – and the harshest environments – with options in the varied range even including plugs & sockets capable of withstanding temporary immersion in/resistance to sea water.

The Pfiffner high-current range available through Ceenorm includes plugs, connectors (standard, panel mounted, wall mounted and angled), and connector units.
